The team manages all the cross-functional attributes and conflicts in the Vehicle Design Process from the Concept Phase in the design studio through to Production. The main responsibilities are:

  • Studio and concept engineering
  • Vehicle package & definition
  • Vehicle criteria & concept development 
  • Management of vehicle design attributes through the Vehicle Technical Specification
  • Ensuring the vehicle design complies with legislative requirements
  • Package and installation of all major systems
  • Occupant comfort
  • Resolution of cross-functional technical conflicts and vehicle attribute trade-offs
  • Management of CAD data judgement and the digital mock up process

Capabilities and Experience

The team has extensive experience developing specialist electric and niche vehicles. 

The team has a wide range of skills to:

  • Produce creative concept solutions
  • Resolve complex cross-functional issues from concept to launch phases of the project
  • Deliver vehicle solutions within the required manufacturing process, style and budget
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met in the concept
  • Manage development of concept to meet attribute targets
  • Ensure the design meets best practice for Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC)
  • Optimise package for passive safety

Delivery of the whole Vehicle Package for the all-new TX hybrid electric taxi. The vehicle is a combination of the commercial requirements of a London taxi and the integration of a full series hybrid powertrain. The vehicle:

  • Complies with Transport for London taxi turning circle regulations
  • Meets forward facing wheelchair and ramp access requirements
  • Fulfils all European crash regulations
  • Accommodates 6 passengers plus the driver

Light Commercial Van (LCV)

  • This is a low investment programme to create a Light Commercial Van based on a common platform with the TX taxi
  • Increased length wheelbase version of TX structure
  • Common front-end style
  • Optimised powertrain package to provide flat load floor

  • Unique and demanding customer specifications
  • Driver position and ergonomics development
  • Engineered to comply with FMVSS regulations
  • Prototype vehicles approved for customer real world use and testing in the USA
