Emerald Automotive Design Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely), specialise in the design, development and production of light-weight, low emission and long range advanced hybrid commercial vehicles. Headquartered in Coventry, with facilities in Essex, USA, Sweden and China, Emerald is expanding to undertake several whole vehicle design & development programmes. The Role:

  • Engineering responsibility for cross Functional management of cost down and forward model year programmes in the overall vehicle architecture
  • Liaison with Homologation and Sales & Marketing teams to establish market requirements and enable the generation of the Product Definition Letter (PDL) documents for new model programmes
  • Support the collation of Engineering function group inputs towards project budget generation
  • Support the vehicle level tracking of FMEA status and DVP progress/completion
  • Tracking and management of Engineering deliverables against the (New Product Introduction (NPI) gateway requirements

The Person:

  • Proven track record of system/component technical design and delivery within an automotive or similar engineering environment
  • Must have a very high level of competence in the use of the MS Office toolkit, in particular Excel and Powerpoint
  • A General automotive knowledge is required in this whole vehicle support role
  • An engineering degree in a relevant discipline (Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience may be considered)
  • Ability to work proactively with minimal support using a logical approach in an environment with minimal documented processes
  • Flexible to support other team members in multiple programs as required
  • Intrinsically self-motivated with an ability to work to challenging time scales on multiple priorities
  • A strong communicator with clear and logical written and verbal communication skills
