Job Specification

Role:                   Project Engineer

Basis:                  Permanent (Grade 8) or consultancy (rolling contract)

Start Date:          ASAP

Reports to:         Chief Engineer

Rate:                    £30-35K Negotiable based upon qualifications, skills and experience

Based:                 Coventry or Essex (with UK & overseas travel)

The Role:

Emerald Design Automotive are currently looking for motivated, dynamic individuals to join our growing team especially those who put value on delivering technical excellence. We have opportunities for junior engineers to join us throughout this year and beyond. All engineers will receive training, ongoing personal development and support throughout the time with us.

Responsibilities:

  • Initially responsible for data management, analysis and control elements of automotive project management
  • Concern management and problem resolution to closure of all issues
  • Actively support project management and co-ordination including support for all engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle

Skills, Education & Experience:

  • Must be advance user of Excel and be fully compliant with MS office programs and various other common software
  • Must have automotive/engineering background
  • Must be able to show the importance of excellent problem solving capabilities and display a high level of attention to detail
  • An Engineering Degree (Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience may be considered)
  • Ability to work proactively with minimal support using a logical approach in an environment with minimal documented processes
  • Flexible to support other team members in multiple programs as required
  • Intrinsically self-motivated with an ability to work energetically to challenging time scales on multiple priorities
  • Clear and logical in both written and verbal communication
  • Experience of system/component technical design and delivery within an automotive or similar engineering environment would be desirable
  • No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union
  • Full driving licence essential
