Job Specification

Role:  Manager - Change Control

Basis:  Full time Permanent or consultancy 6 months initial rolling contract

Start Date:  asap+

Reports to:  Product Data Manager

Rate: £45-55K plus benefits, subject to negotiation dependant on experience

Based: Coventry (with possible vists to Essex)

Role:

  • Managing processes and methods for Change to Product Data and Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) along with associated processes across multiple projects, customers and sites
  • Creating workflows, establishing priorities, best practice and KPI
  • Reporting to the Product Data Manager within the Programme Management team
  • Assisting in managing Change to BOM derivatives including Purchasing and Service BOMs from conception through to aftersales and end of vehicle life
  • Extracting and examination of Change information to support business
  • Interfacing to other departments for management of Change

Responsibilities:

  • Control and update of Changes to Product Data, BOM content and attributes within PLM.
  • Implementation of Feature Content Change to the Product Data
  • Maintaining Change to Product Data and BOMs within PLM System and using spreadsheet data and analysis to ensure part number, part description and part attributes consistency
  • Implement, drive and maintain Change Requests and Approvals in your charge to a satisfactory level within the PLM system
  • Organise internal and external multi-site Change meetings where necessary ensuring all interested parties (including suppliers) are appropriately represented
  • Coordinate all Change activity throughout build phases
  • Respond to Change queries raised by other areas, ensuring timely and accurate problem resolution
  • Maintain the integrity of the Change release process and checklist to reflect the business needs for accurate Product Data
  • Where necessary, act as the point of contact for all internal and international Change related queries.
  • Monitor and progress Changes to Product Data and BOM related issues or concerns raised by business functions and supplier base
  • Ensure all Changes to BOM related attributes are fully addressed
  • Assure the necessary BOM Part related Change approval has been fully addressed before providing final BOM Part and Change authorization

Deliverables:

  • Maintain Process, Procedures, Metrics and status reports
  • Maintaining Change Status within the PLM and other systems
  • Effective reviews of Changes
  • Reports and KPIs to senior management

Skills:

  • Experience in engaging with BOM, PLM and ERP applications
  • MS office literate including Excel (with some ability related to understanding formulae, Macro’s etc.), Word and Powerpoint with charts and other functions
  • Experience with PLM structures and Change implementation
  • Minimum of 3 years Automotive experience within a similar role
  • Flexible and willing to accept challenging and sometimes diverse activities to maintain project deliverables
